My client Guy Buckmaster ran a successful forum using phpBB2 but due to being hacked a few times he decided to get me to upgrade his forum to vBulletin and import the old phpBB2 database. He also hired me to Design and code a new custom vBulletin template. Knights Templar Forums - Powered by vBulletin ![]() Knights Templar Forums - Powered by vBulletin |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well it is about time I got over here to let everyone know how much I have not only enjoyed working with Bluepearl Design, but to let you know I am so pleased with the work. Bluepearl has added many custom scripts, such as who is online for TeamSpeak and Ventrilo (VOIP for gamers). Bluepearl has now performed a number of new sites for me for various non-profit organizations. I continue to be amazed at the superior capabilities, eagerness to search and perform out-of-the-ordinary scripts to insure the projects end results meets or exceeds my expectations. To let you know a little about me, gaming and my hobbies I have added content below: Mahomet Of K T had the recent fortune to be interviewed by Associated Press for Father's Day articles published in many papers across the USA and overseas. Below are the pictures, captions and story lines. ![]() ![]() Guy Buckmaster, a marketing director, sits at a computer Wednesday as he demonstrates an online game, "Guild Wars," that he regularly plays with his six children in Clearwater, Fla. Beyond fun, fathers playing video games with their kids to bond By MATT SLAGLE ASSOCIATED PRESS The generation that grew up with "Pac-Man" and "Pong" are now having children of their own. And across the nation, fathers and their kids are finding the virtual worlds of video games a popular place to bond. Many fathers say the games bring them closer to their kids by providing a safe, convenient way to stay in touch and talk to their children on their own terms. A national survey released last year by the Entertainment Software Association, a video game industry group, found that 35 percent of parents play video games, of which 80 percent play with their children. Mothers, too, were part of the study. One expert said video games equalize the physical size differences between fathers and their kids. That means children often have the edge in a video game, and they may feel more willing to communicate. "You're on the kid's turf," said Dr. Arminta Jacobson, director of the Center for Parent Education at the University of North Texas. "Anything that's fun between fathers and their kids I think is a really good thing." But Jacobson also warned that limits are necessary because video games don't encourage reflective thinking skills, language development, social skills or physical activity. "Fathers could set aside a time each week to play video games but also set aside times to read, take walks and just talk," she said. Some dads have made a career out of video games and parenting. "This is a way to bond for the people who don't go out in the sun so much," joked Andrew Bub, a father of two whose Web site, Gamerdad.com, reviews video games from a parent's perspective. "Taking an interest in what your kids do will always make you a better parent. And, you'll have a better idea about what to buy them for Christmas." For Guy Buckmaster, a marketing director in Clearwater, Fla., gaming with his six children began in the late 1990s with "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction." He still plays with them about two nights per week on another game, "Guild Wars," where they can chat, hash out personal issues - and yes - defeat others in online computer battles. "It's allowed me to be a continuing influence and provide guidance in their life, and that's important to me," said Buckmaster, 55. "This has been an instrument that is unparalleled." Forget universities or recruitment agencies — the place to find employees is online gaming sites. Far from wasting their time — and companies’ money — in the virtual world, online gamers are developing skills vital to business success, claims a study by software maker Seriosity in collaboration with IBM and researchers from Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The study found that participants learn to collaborate, stay organised, and take risks while playing online. For the study, researchers also captured 50 hours of online activity of five different games that were most representative of leadership behaviour. They also reviewed online surveys and conducted interviews with prominent gaming leaders. There are approximately 73 million gamers online, 56% of them men. They spend an average of 22 hours a week online. Researchers found that online gaming reflects the way business is moving: increasingly global, faster-paced and fiercely competitive. More work is also being conducted virtually with technology becoming more and more important. The study found that online gaming — where hundreds of thousands of gamers interact daily in highly complex, competitive environments — taught people with leadership potential to recruit, organise, motivate and direct large groups of players towards a common goal. They also learn to make decisions in split seconds. Another plus is that online gamers learn to be comfortable with taking risks, something vital in the business world. Researchers also found that online players learn to deal with disagreements and strong opinions — with some even becoming less sensitive to group conflicts. This is good in a working environment. “Businesses are waking up to the importance of games,” said Seriosity general manager Simon Roy. “[Gamers] bring the same neurons to work as they do to game playing. “The values you expose in the game are in many places very valid and respected … whether you are online or offline,” said Roy. “[Many] are generic people-management issues. “A person playing a game for several years can get [the equivalent of] 10 years of management experience.” — Sunday Times Foreign Desk “What we’ve found is that success as a business leader may depend on skills as a gamer,” IBM Almaden Director of Services Research Jim Spohrer said in a statement. The Times - Article I thought I might share some recent creations with my fellow Templars and GW fans: The Wolfgang ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The above four pictures are of a "BUCKMASTER" custom handmade one-of-a-kind guitar. The "Wolfgang" began as a Flame Maple over solid Mahogany body with a dual thin inlaid nitro's band finish in nitrocellulose for that vintage and "breathable" gloss finish. The neck is a Warmoth Flame Maple with Abalonie inlay on Rosewood Variax style neck. Warmoth Direct - Replacement Guitar Necks, Custom Guitar Necks, Guitar Conversion Necks The Tremelo is a very cool satin high precision Wilkinson adds adjustable locking bent-steel saddles with an improved 6-hole baseplate mounting design that provides better string energy transfer and sustain. The electronics are my pride and joy using custom special ordered handwound Seymour Duncan's with a versatile neck position P.A.F.-type humbucker that is great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. It boast a late-‘50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound. Warm and crystalline clean tones. Full and bright distorted tones. Smooth sustain with slightly scooped mids in a vacuum wax potted configuration for squeal-free performance. The bridge special custom ordered handwound Seymour Duncan pickup is a high output humbucker with bright tones. Great for pop, country, blues, classic rock and heavy rock also. The pickup uses an Alnico II magnet for warm and smooth highs, more midrange, and a spongy bottom end. It plays well as a traditional vintage tone with increased output. To enhance to 8 quality voicings, I added a custom German made 5 position "Varitone" switch and installed a high precision 3-way slider switch. The "Varitone" switch has been used in the past by BB King on his famous vintage Lucille Gibson 335 guitar. "de Paul" ![]() ![]() ![]() The above three pictures are of a "BUCKMASTER" custom handmade one-of-a-kind guitar. The "de Paul" is a slimline hollow body Paduk (Brazilian Rosewood) top over a hollowed Haitian Mahogany body finished in nitrocellulose for that vintage and "breathable" gloss finish. The neck is a custom made Purpleheart wood neck. The heavy weight high sustain high precision Wilkinson bridge adds adjustable saddle design that provides better string energy transfer and sustain. The electronics use custom special ordered handwound Dimarzio's triple pickup P90 style with two humbuckers and one single coil in reverse phase. I added a custom made 5 position slide switch to achieve the multitude of voicings. In tow of the positions I can achieve a strong Fender sound, one the telecaster famous 50's cluck sound and one the Strocaster's famous Hendrix solid sound. The other positions provide a mix of PAF clear sound of Les Paul and the grunge crunch of Jimmy Page or Robert Plant played on those overheated Gibson Les Paul humbuckers.
