was wondering if someone can explain sub-domains to me, from what i think it is , is if i set up a sub-domain i can use that as a web address
example : my domain is
, i payed for that domain. what im wonting is to not have to pay for say a domain called
www.watchersworks.net.
my host info page says i have free sub-domains, but i dont wont to have to pay for a new domain name, if I can do it, just dont know how.
heres how it tells me to set it up

following the instructions and creating a folder and chosing create new virtualhost it tells me this

so can someone explaine sub-domains to me so i can make sure im not doing something wrong?
