Re: Microsoft Congratulates Mozilla on FireFox 3

lol.. fireFox in my opinion is sexier... unless on Vista.
But ya, from what my friends are saying, IE is FASTer than FF... i've even seen the speed difference.. what a shocker.

I have to agree with Sean IE is deff better looking, UNLESS you have a theme for your FF. Then FF is looks alot better.

One of the biggest differences between FF2 and FF3 is the security features am i right?

Re: Microsoft Congratulates Mozilla on FireFox 3

Yeah the security features and just more options.. Its really just a nicer font and easier to use as there are many more people learning to use comps these days

Re: Microsoft Congratulates Mozilla on FireFox 3

chrome can go suck one :P
I prefer FireFox on my Desktop and Safari on my Mac... I tried Chrome, actually ran slower than FireFox and ate more processes... just because each tab had its own, and the initial program had to be ran, where as in FireFox its all just one.
Plus the fact that latly i've been totally hating on Google like i used to on Microsoft. They are a growing Monopoly...
Their old mission - Organize the entire internet - is down the drain, its more like - Take over the world, or beat everyone out of the competition - ....

Re: Microsoft Congratulates Mozilla on FireFox 3

yeah, using threads instead of processes makes firefox Slimmer but when something like flash crashes, it crashes the whole process, where as with seperate processes for tabs, it could possibly only crash or stall the one tab.

I like firefox allot because the the CSS rrendering image seems to work most of the time. IE8 is ok, but still has some wierd ways of rendering css. (I do my CSS all in a command line text editor, so I have become quite good knowing how CSS is supposed to work, means I memorize it :P)

Chrome is pretty good. Too bad I can't use it on my gentoo rig. I canon my virtual machines though.

I have a quad core with 8 gigs of ram for developing now. For virtualization, I ahve about 7 Gentoo Linux machines running, 4 Windows xp, 1 Vista, and 1 windows server running on a Gentoo Host OS. Still can't get the damn thing to use more than 2 gigs of ram hehe. I run out of processor availability instead of ram

Re: Microsoft Congratulates Mozilla on FireFox 3

Does anyone know if the rendering engine in IE8 is much different than IE7? **** the last thing we need to do now is test our sites on 4 different versions of explorer.

One thing i love about firefox is that i never have to test my sites in previous versions as i know their rendering engine is backward compatable unlike explorer where IE5, IE6 and IE7 had some small and large differences
