I like it. The addition of shadow might give it more uniformity but it might also get rid of the sense of depth it has by not shadign them. I think I may prefer it as is.
I'm not saying this just to flatter you . But if it has that effect...

That is simply a marvalus logo , Awsome design, but as sean said it might ...just might look better with shadows on the black squares. but who am i i cant even make a good sig hehe not with out a tut to copy heh
I considered shadowing the black boxes as well, but I thought that for a logo it would be too much "3D-ness" and as Sohl said, may remove the sense of depth it has. I will give it a go regardless and re-post the result here a little later on.
