Yeah, I was talking about the old macromedia studios, because I would suppose they are getting cheaper

you can try Photo shop CS 4. It's latest and has more features.

If you don't want to spend too much you can go to eBay and get a copy of an older version. I have version 5, and the only real complaint I have with it is that it doesn't work on my new homebuilt computer. Its just that old.

My own priority right now is zBrush, but I'll be seeking to get a newer version of Photoshop not long after.

Pity Corel now owns Paint Shop Pro...everything up to version 8 stood alongside Photoshop at a lower price...but no longer...

Honestly the adobe suite pretty much owns up the competition, although a local graphic designer here who does vinyl signs and whatnot showed me a couple neat graphics apps that does stuff for you, like removing detailed background without making the forground image edges jaggedy in one click.
