Rep Power: 0 | <Pokes his head up> Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm a role player gamer and was handed the management of my guild's forums (If I'm not giving proper credit, PLEASE let me know and I'll fix it - I haven't changed the copyright notice)
I know zero about coding and I'm doing this all by feel and experimentation, the latter which I've found to be painful
I loved the ClanzDarkness template and now I'm hooked on tweaking the forums more and more (I can see where this never ends ... always looking for that next little improvement )
And I want to thank Sean in particular for his quick and helpful replies to some questions I posted elsewhere. Thanks again! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: <Pokes his head up> Well, I'm poking around the site, trying to learn what I can without pestering you with questions!
But here I go violating that protocol ... - It's nice that you offer help but ... what moves a solution from free to payment required? And is there a place to donate to BPD or particularly helpful users?
- I see this forum is vbulletin and I love the formatting options and 'additional' options and haven't got a clue how to do that in php ... and I don't even know if it's possible. Can a php forum be converted to a vbulletin?
- Where are you guys in Australia? I spent two summers in Tassie doing some marine ecology research and loved it!

sean & kate are located in sidney for asfar as i know,
and there used to be a "donate" link arround here somewhere if i recall correctly...
all these functions can be made in php, all they require is good knowledge of the scripting language, and lots of time |

Transferring phpBB to vBulletin is no easy task, but if u need it done i can do it for you. Bluepearl design used to be a phpBB forum
Not sure if there is any documentation on using the forum scripts |

- 2) Does switching undo all the modifications I've done to the ClanzDarkness template?
- 3) That gets back to what something like that might cost ... I definitely am not going to try it on my own!
