modo Jet engines
okay i promised this tutorial so here goes it
the basic commands you need to know are
x = extrude
b = bevil
r = resize
w = move
e = rotate
before you start pres ctrl foward slash to see the meshes.
to start active the cylinder tool your should get something like this.

for this tut change the diameter values to 1m on all sides just to make it easy
the next stage is to start to get the jet engine shape. this is easily done with the bevel tool. to start use the select poly tool and select on of the two circles. after that press b and click anywhere in the viewport. you should get a screen simialar this
the blue handle controls distanc outward and the red controls the inset. now by using the handles just grab and make the shape of the mouth of your engine.
select the poly at the other end of the cylinder. now using the bevil tool again model the rear to replicate the shape of a jet engine.you will hopefully achive this or similar
now comes the hard part to make the blades, to start this create new mesh this will look like its emptied the screen but the cowling is still there just in the background. activate the cylinder comand again but this time reduce the diameters on the cylinder to 20 cm this will make an elongated cylinder. activate the edge select tool and duoble click the edges around the cylinder and then by using w move them to look like this
then press e and rotate the second band of edges like this
now select all the edges in that band
hold shift and in the meshes toolbar selct mesh 1 as well. now press x and you should get something like this
when you get that pull out the blue handle to gey length for the blades and the blue for width.
and thats how you make a jet engine in modo
have fun
