Is there a tut on creating phpBB templates?

I want to "attempt" to create my own template, but I've NO idea even where to begin. Is there a template for the template that can be used as a guide?

I am guessing u want to create a theme for phpBB?

First of all u will need good knowledge of HTML using a text editor and not 3rd party software like Dreamweaver/frontpage.
U will also need to know abit about how PHP works regarding to Tables and including pages.

My advice is too first modify a existing theme, and then when u feel like u know what u r doing start a new theme from scratch

Cool.. thanks, Griffin. Frag, I'll have to download/install MSN messenger. Don't think I have that one.

I know nothing of serious coding/scripting, etc. I 'have' DW, but I've yet to use it. My sites were built with Notepad, or now I use Araneae, a free program that is absolutely the coolest for hand coding.

Anyway, I really would like to create a theme... even if I have to use another as a template, if that's even possible (??). lol Here I thought it was going to be as simple as creating graphics of a certain size, etc.

I'd like to create one in the style of Darkness, where the template fills the screen, and one like what's on my forums right now---narrow, etc.

well, you just make a site like normal, & code some content boxes php will use to show the content, & put it all together

or you try to make a whole new thing from scratch like i did for my site.

& on my forum i just took the coding from an existing theme, changed it, changed some images & done.
