Rep Power: 5 | Font problems I hope this is in the right forum, but I'm having trouble with fonts in photoshop. I'm trying to create an image with text on it, and the font I'm using (the one Fragalot uploaded for me) stopped working suddenly.
The text is really thick, like bold---only it wasn't like that yesterday. When I made the font smaller (4pt) it looks even worse---thick, bold, can't read. This is a pixel font, and as I mentioned it looked great on images yesterday.
What happened, and how do I fix this? |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Font problems If it worked great before, maybe your canvas is zoomed to a size that would make the font look bad. Try using the magnifying glass tool. Right click and choose "Actual Size". If that doesn't work, I suggest you just find a new font, lol. http://www.dafont.com

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Font problems Thanks, Baacke.. that's the first thing I looked at. It's really strange looking, though, like it's set to bold or something---very heavy font today, but wasn't yesterday.
....figured out the fix, posted it below. Whew.

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Font problems Update: In case anyone has this problem, I figured out a fix:
Start photoshop while holding down Shift + Ctrl + Alt to delete the settings file (ps will build a new one, as you guys probably already know).
I thought this fix only worked with brushes, but it works with other stuff too! all better now! lol |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Font problems Unfortunately, I also learned that my one month old laptop may need servicing: video card problem. It's weird that the photoshop fonts went nuts at the same time the system fonts went nuts. All the screen and form fonts are blurry, blocky, almost as if they're not AA. They are though, but removing the AA doesn't help.
Ugh. I have a feeling it's service time already. Good grief. |

Rep Power: 9 | Re: Font problems i had a vidio card problem myself,
it alway's made my pc crash, & stopped showing something on the screen.
installed a new power supply & it was fixed.
or you can install something form ATI (if you have an ATI card)
that recovers your pc after a videocardcrash. |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Font problems Yeah, it's an ATI. I downloaded and installed the updated driver (version 8.1) but the version showing on my system is still the 6. whatever version. Sheesh.
No crashes so far (knock on wood!) |
