Upgrading phpBB

I signed into a two of my sites today and found the following message in Fantastico about upgrading phpBB. I don't really understand what it means about modifying themes, etc.

I've installed a few themes/templates and changed the header image to show the name of the forum as well as whatever else is on there----is that what they mean by modifications?

Not sure what to do at this point... help! hehe :P Anyway, below is the message in Fantastico: Also, will my current templates/themes work with this new version??

i've changed my theme aswell, that has nothing to do with it.

mods are like adding an arcade gaming section or downloads to your forum.
so, don't worry to much.

besides, your current installation is backed up!

so, go ahead with the update if ya want to.

its always best to be up to date on your forums, have all the latest updates to stop hacks from getting into your board

yeah, me too.... I was being sarcastic. lol I wrote to my hosting company and hopefully they can install the backup. The directions were WAY WAY over my head. I tried it first on the forum that's not very active, so that's a good thing.

Apparently the upgrade does overwrite templates, smiley packs, avatars... everything you add.

hmm when i upgraded my old phpBB board (when this board was phpBB hehe) i lost nothing.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I guess I'll just have to wait for my hosting company to install the backup.
