SMF is on this part much better aswell, just use the package manager,and it does it for you xD

i hate updates for phpbb aswell...
that's the main reason i stopped using it.

Holy crapolie, batman! LOL I can barely afford what I'm doing now. Plus I don't get enough members or activity on the board(s) to make that cost worthwhile.

I switched to SMF... and I'm actually modifying a theme right now. All I did was invert images (yes, I cheated) to get the darker look, and I've written the designer who created it to get his approval. If he doesn't like what I did, then I guess I'll use his theme as template and do something else... is that legal? I've NO idea how that works, really.

why would modifying something, esp. when asking not be legal

you havent put your name under it, so he can't complain

in my opinion the SMF themes were just meant to be modded...
most of the originals suck xD
untill you change them

and besides, SMF provides the function to change the CSS, wich comes out to the same as inverting the images (making the theme look better)

just gotta love smf

I know one thing's for sure: Even "I" can edit the CSS in SMF! At least on that one theme anyway. The creator of the CSS file made it so it's nearly idiot proof. hehe

Autumn I will be glad to sit on your forums all day and never turn off my computer so you can get Vbulletin. lol ... Congrats on the forum. Someday you guys are gonna have to teach me how to use phpbb or w/e to make a theme.. All I know right now is.. C++ HTML and VB code(Visual Basic)

all i know is html, a lil' php and a lil' javascript...
for making themes, php is DEFENATLY required

oh, it's easier to find a descent tut for phpbb themes, than to find one for SMF that makes sence...

i've downloaded a manual for that, wich is over 18 megs of html files :s
just try to get ur way in there, without an index.htm file... i still havent found where to start..
