Pixel size for desktop wallpapers?

Question Pixel size for desktop wallpapers?
I hope this is in the right forum, but I wasn't sure where to put this:

Was just wondering if you guys know what width and height is needed to create desktop wallpaper for wide-screen monitors? I just made the wallpaper oversized and a little wider to make sure it fits, but that ends up cutting some of the image off, etc.

Any ideas? I did a google search but found nothing about how to set the size.

these r the sizes i usually create.

1600x1200
1280x1024
1024x768
800x600

Wide screens u would usually design at 2000x1100
