We are currently designing custom vBulletin 3 and 4 templates for $500USD.
For a cheaper alternative we can also modify our own custom premade skins from www.bluepearl-skins.com for $200USD.

vBulletin custom template details:

• Full rights to the template, this template will never be resold or reused.
• Custom buttons, status icons and other misc graphics.
• Free installation.
• PSD files of the header/logo and status icons.
• 100% tested and customer satisfaction.

Please note:

• Customers must provide their own logo, simple logo design is $50USD extra.
• 50% of payment is to be made before commencement of work and 50% on completion of work.
• First 2 updates are free, for example from 4.0.0 to 4.0.1 etc, updates after are $15USD. Please note not all vBulletin updates need template changes.
  (please note updating from 4.0.x to 4.1.x or 5.0.x will cost more as the templates and codes are completely rewritten. This price is based on project and complexity)
• Templates take between 7-20 days to complete depending on complexity, so customers can choose any 1 of our premade skins from www.bluepearl-skins.com to use for free while your template is being designed.
• Branding free is $50USD. (removal of 'Designed by Bluepearl Design')

I get alot of requests for additional services so i will post some of my other services and costs in this thread as well.

• vBulletin installation/upgrades $40USD, Includes updating of my own skins and backing up your database.
• vBadvanced installation: $30USD.
• vBgallery installation: $30USD.
• Plugin/mod installation, $10USD per plugin.
• Database backup without upgrade $20USD.

Thanks mate, been doing them for a while for customers and clients, just never advertised these services.

I find the number 1 thing most administrators forget to do is backup their forums regularly. Restored a few databases for clients that were older than 12 months... imagine losing all that hard work.

Best way to backup a forum database is to regularly backup before an upgrade and backup using SSH. And always make sure you have a copy of your database on your computer.

Sean ~ do we need each update? Is there a security or performance issue if we wait?

In the old days with vB3.8.x not all updates were needed, but because vBulletin 4.0.4 has over 400bug fixes every update is recommended.

vBulletin 4.0.4 also apparently is faster, especially the CMS.

Then again, the owner has made so many improvements it isn't funny...

Well, live and learn. This has been one expensive lesson for me. I don't mind the expense, if the members were happy, but I think that's why many aren't staying.
