those aren' tbuilt into vista, that's just software from asus itself, if you ran XP it would work too. =/

and if you haven't already noticed "Vista ready" means it's just a modern computer, that's it.

same goes for "HD ready"

xp / vista whatever, what im talking about is the software that came with my laptop (on the CD) its only compatible with 'windows' based operating systems.

today i saw a screen that was "designed for Vista" .. I mean.. WTF? it's a SCREEN!

its like my new ASUS laptop, i love it, but there is no volume control on the computer itself u need to use the function keys to mute or turn up and down the sound :S

The drivers seem to be only available for Windows, so who knows what i would do if i changed the OS on the laptop :S

my Chembook i got from some american dude doesn't even have a mute button....
only function buttons it has is screen brightness and numpad.

and you can always TRY linux by just inserting the CD. note: not all drivers will be loaded.
therse a good chance that the buttons will all work.

Alien Ware is bad.. lol, used to be good but from what i hear, they've been slow with the tech...

My Partner at Steroid Kingdom, bought a $7000 Alienware desktop computer and has had to return it 3 times due to overheating, and even now it crashes for no reason at all :S
