Vista Launched

Vista is being launched world wide tonight (midnight OZ time) I would like to know what everyones thoughts are on this new Operating System.Does anyone understand how it works?,how well it work with XP as I understand it, its a down loadable upgrade.So, troops , what ya think ??

I know what features it has

and I also know where they got the features...
Plus i've had all of those 'new' things for 8 years or so...

dad got em somewhere off google for win98 when it first came out

(speech stuff)

and the 3D stuff.. look at beryl-project.org (linux) or apple...

so, my opinion on it is: it's new functions are a scam, Vista itself is a scam, and still has bugs in it, i'd wait for a SP1 to come out before buying it.

only good thing is (alledged) increase of performance, and 64bit support.

lol, it is Apple's OS just copied into Microsoft's programing.. Its just like when Apple had started, and Microsoft just said "Hey, lets just copy their code change it a little and say its ours"

Vista is also supposed to have a Higher Demand of Processor and speed and stuff (so i've been told).. All in all, if i were to get Vista, i'd go run to CompUSA and grab a Mac, along w/ some OSx and some Apple games >.<

-----My Opinion is that its a rip off, and sometime Microsoft just put together very fast to compete with Apple, and Linux (don't forget Google OS. jk) It was also supposedly worked on by a US Gov't agency, that placed secret files in it (Microsoft has this in Windows XP as well but different than Vista - Microsuck)

LC; not only mac, also add in linux... :/

they steal the code, and then say we nicked it from them and when that's done, m$ sue's linus.

also, Vista has been totally recoded, now supports 64bit like it should, and it's supposed to be the best version ever made... so we'll see... i'm not 100% sceptic...

One major thing I sidlike about Vista is it's "Security" features. As in Microsoft has the rights to delete stuff off your computer without you knowing. Also HD-DVD quality is reduced to **** because of MPAA. Basicaly, if you're into gaming and do more than surf the internet and read your emails, Vista's not for you.

yupp.. see microsoft has too much control over people's computers.. I wish games ran good on Mac's or Linux would become a major part where many people can use it.

also that all the programs (Games, Graphics, And stuff) were cabatible on all of the o/s's
