new site design

The more I looked at the colors the more I agreed that it was a bad decision made under extreme duress. I went back tot he drawign board (literally0 and this is what I came up with. I've never seen anything like it and was wonderign if it is a jsut a bad idea altogether to think this far out of the box.
Thanks to those who gave input and to those who didn't.. well, I forgive you.
Here's the pre-release of the site. Obviously content will change before it goes live. This is also my very firswt sliced site so please point out whatever rookie mistakes I've made.

btw, I used only original content to the point of even making my own brushes for this project.

I've been toying with ideas for a new design and approach to my website/global junk drawer and I think I like this one. It's still not exactly what I want. I would like to eventually go with a complete graphical interface type layout but I havent' figured out how to do it yet. Let me know what you think.

- overall design
- comparison to existing site
- quality of graphics

k no offense i really dont like the color at all, maybe if u added variations of the color it would look alot better.

Overall design and layout looks good, and i like the navigation boxes.

The text in the header needs work, as its hard to read, and i would remove the black line going down the page splitting the navigation and content.

Overall i like the design

Since you're offering, *grin* I'd really like to make a single graphic that encompasses the entire page and position my text absolutely combined with overflow values but I don't even know where to begin or even if that is a good idea. If I at least knew what style that is considered I could find tuts and help myself.

Hey man, looks like your off to a good start.. but IF i were you i would...

1. Background is kinda boring, maybe try a different color or pattern, some sites, a white background looks nice but yours doesnt..

2. I agree with griffin with the nav boxes, really cool...

3. Top header needs work, text is very hard to read..(stick with basic loking text).. All those lines that run through it dont seem right

Also, these are my own opinions, if you think it looks nice then keep it, eevryone has there own style and tastes

Over all tho man, i like where this is heading
